Look beyond the door itself
A doorway under a deep porch and an open gate can face very different conditions, even at the same property. Show the full entrance when requesting a recommendation: include the shelter above it, the sides and the area where water can reach the lock. Explain whether wind-driven rain reaches the door.
Do not infer weather protection from the lock’s appearance, a metal finish or a photograph of it beside an exterior door. A suitable installation decision needs the actual model information and the conditions at the proposed location.
Understand the claim being made
For DX11 Max, everyday splash resistance does not establish suitability for prolonged rain, pressure washing, immersion or an unsheltered gate. AROVENIQ does not publish an IP rating for this model. If you require a rated enclosure or a particular compliance standard, ask for the exact model-specific evidence before purchase.
Patent documentation and weather-protection testing serve different purposes. A mainboard or chip-design patent is not a waterproofing certificate or an independent security rating. Keep those questions separate when comparing products.
Confirm care and location before installation
Follow the cleaning and charging instructions supplied with the lock. Do not spray water into electronic parts or connectors. If the planned doorway is exposed, discuss another position or a product with documented suitability instead of assuming that an added cover solves every exposure problem.
- Send an entrance photo that shows the roof or shelter.
- Describe direct rain, water spray and your usual cleaning method.
- Read the installation recommendation and warranty terms together.
